April 25th, 2001 Dan - Two cents and rant
Did my two cents for episodes 152 - 154. Theres been a small bit of SM news lately, I'll have that up sometime this week. I also plan to make a page that has all the DVD/VHS covers of the S releases so they can be used for reference. I also plan to update the links page sometime next week. If you want your site on the links page, e-mail me and I'll check your site out and possibly put it up. Please don't be rude when e-mailing a link submission, or else I'll just delete your mail and not look at the site. Being rude includes telling me to hurry up and add your site or bugging me about it. Someone did that just after I got my computer back from hell (read all about it on MKBO in the updates) so they're not being considered, plus it's just common courtsey to not be rude or demanding. Have fun reading about the episodes and I'll get all the stuff previously metioned as soon as I can!

April 14th, 2001 Bob - SMS DVD2 quick review
Well, I'm back! I've watched the DVD, got the cover art and am all ready to report back to you guys. First off, let's start with the art, eh?

Again, the pictures are big and I tried to get them big enough so that you'd be able to read the small print, however, some of the smaller stuff is still a little fuzzy. On to the DVD......
The DVD contains six episodes leading up to Kaorinite's death. It's uncut in both English and Japanese. Just like the first disc revolved around Sailor Moon, the star of this disc is Sailor Jupiter. All the menus are of her, although I don't think they were as good as the first disc's menus. The extras include a detailed biography of Sailor Jupiter (although not as good as Moon's) and a sing along to Tuxedo Mirage. I noticed one small error in the Jupiter profile. When referring to boy types she likes, it says, "Ones that resemble the upperclassmah that she used to admire". Yes, "Upperclassmate" was misspelled, but that's a relatively minor thing.
Now, to address the problems of the previous disc in relation to this disc. The incorrect openings are still used and the post-episode previews are still missing as well. However, the cropping issue seems to have been fixed. For volume 3 (the first 3 episodes of this DVD) the episodes are still cropped, however, for volume 4 (the last three episodes on the DVD), it appears as if the cropping is gone. I can't officially say that the cropping is gone since I haven't been able to compare it to my fansubs and I wont be able to until I get a DVD player in my room, however, I'm pretty sure the cropping is gone for the 2nd half of the DVD.
Now onto the content. The japanese script was once again, faithfully translated. There were a few things that kind of got to me (like the Daimon's names when they're romanized and Eudial being changed to "Yujial"), but these are just nitpicky things of mine that I really don't have any reason to whine about (since there usually isn't only one correct way to romanize a name).
In the episode where "Ai No Senshi" plays, I was pleasantly suprised to realize that the song used the Japanese lyrics in BOTH the Japanese _AND_ English version, as opposed to the edited dub version which used English lyrics. Also, I noticed slight differences between the edited dub script and the uncut dub script. The most noticeable of these is when Senishenta dies. In the edited dub, she says nothing before she dies but in the uncut dub she goes "Grrrr....". I know this is a really REALLY minor thing, but the fact is is that differences ARE there between the two versions of the dub, which makes me keep my hopes up for a male Fish Eye in the uncut SuperS dub.
Aside from that, I don't think there's much else to talk about, so until next time, JA!

April 13th, 2001 Dan - Caught up
After a computer crash (you can read on MKBO) I've just about caught up with everything with MKBO and SMU. Now unlike Bob, I hate an update without actual content updated, so I've done my two cents for episodes 146 - 151. Now after my experience with Heart Collection I, you know I can't let Bob's comment earilier today go by without me responding to it. Eight copies on the Suncoast shelves mean nothing as to Pioneer being less stingy, as Suncoast was getting copies of the first DVD for three and a half weeks before anyone else did. If I get my second DVD before my spring break ends (April 22), then I'll admit to them being less stingy this time around. (sidenote: Central New York still hasn't seen a thing in stores of the first release, I'll be going out later today or tomorrow and checking again while getting more NGE DVDs ^_^)

Hey! Nothing real big today. We got some new awards so those have gone up.
Now, on Wednesday, I went to Suncoast to pick up my Heart Collection II DVD. I got it, however, I don't have it in my posession yet due to some carelessness on my friend's part. I'll actually have it in my possession later today and tomorrow I hope to have

Also, some good news about the DVDs. It appears that Pioneer isn't being as stingy with the 2nd DVD as they were with the first, because when I went to Suncoast to pick mine up, there were eight copies on the shelves. I didn't check the VHS section so I can't comment on that. So if you haven't picked your DVD up yet, GO AND GET IT NOW! ^_^ Remember, good sales for the DVD results in good things happening to our beloved show ~_^.

I spaced out yesterday. On episode 151, I forgot to mention on of the most important scene alterations! The alterations made to the henshin sequence. Heh, what was I on? Well, it's all fixed now so go there to check it out.

Not only is today the day that more comparisons are added, it's also the day that the 2nd SMS DVD is released! If you haven't gotten already, go and get it now! So where's mine you ask? Well, currently, I don't have any money to buy it with, but as soon as I have the money, you can be sure that I'll have it in my hot little hands *evil laughter*.

Boy, oh, Boy, do I have a suprise for all of you. Yes, you guessed it. _MORE_ comparisons! Unbelievable, ne? Two weeks in a row...Wow, I can't believe I pulled it off. Anyway, episodes 146, 147, and 148 have been added to the series section. Also, there was a scene alteration I missed in episode 113. I updated that page as well with the proper credits. Also, the 2nd SMS DVD is coming out soon (April 10th) and once again, I encourage you all to buy it! The more support everyone shows to the subtitled releases of Sailor Moon, the better it is for us who want an accurate dub of Stars. So start saving up! ~_^
