March 7th, 2002 Bob - Episode 7 posted

Hey!!!!!!!!

Guess what? I actually did another episode comparison!!! Wheeeee!!! Episode 7 is up in the series section. I have Episode 8 and 9 almost completed too so those will go up sometime between 30 minutes from now to Sunday night. Check back often to see if they've gone up.

I've also corrected a few blaring mistakes in the introduction, so that's been fixed.

And Finally, I swear this is the LAST TIME I'll mention ANYTHING about this.....but go visit Biggamin.com. Why? Well, if you hated it last time I made you go, then just go one more time. We have the spiffyest layout now, so that makes the site MUCH more attractive and enjoyable, so just check it out one more time. If you do, I'll NEVER mention it again. Deal? DEAL! Yay!

Ja for now.

March 5th, 2002 Dan - New news stuff

Well, I didn't make my goal of getting stuff done before March, *glares at friends who steal my cpu from me to play games together online* but I got a small something done tonight, or this morning, you decide. Put up a news article which is probably well known by now, but is up for completeness sake. Also added an ADV DVD cover archive to go along with their DVD releases (yeah, that's the news article). I realized that I've never really reported on any ADV VHS news or covers or anything and was basically favoring all that stuff to the Pioneer releases. I shouldn't have played favorites like that, and I apologize for being like that. I promise to not be like that anymore, and to report all the news that happens here in NA. Now, for the rest of the stuff I have yet to post in the cover archive, I'll be honest, I don't know when I'll get to it. Between school, work, sleep, and Counterstrike addicts for friends (they play a couple other games online too, but that's the big one), I can't predict when I'll be on my computer for a long length of time to get them done, but I'll do my best to get them done as fast as I can. I guess a reasonable goal would be to have it done before I go on spring break in a few weeks, but no promises. Anyways, I'm just babbling on now, so I'm off to bed, ja!

February 25th, 2002 Tiff - I'm alive o.o;;

Becuase of circumstances beyond my control *cough*stupidsmalltowntexans*cough* i have not been online for about a week and will not be on again for another 8-10 days except solely through the access of my college's computers. I would like to comment on our new domain by saying: YATTA!!! ^_^ ja!

*BOB BREAKS IN* Hi! Umm...Don't forget to keep visiting www.biggamin.com!!! Why? Well read my update from yesterday and you'll know why ^^;;;;;; Gomen *RUNS AWAY*

February 24th, 2002 Bob - More screencaps

Hi Everybody!

*everyone responds*: "Hi Dr. Nick!"

I've posted the images for episodes 103 - 108. Go to their respective episode comparison to see what was cut from the dub! Whee!!

Also, I would like you all to go here, www.biggamin.com. Why, you might ask? Well, I'm forced to maintain that site (against my will), and if I have to maintain it, you have to enjoy it. ^^;;;;

Hey, who knows you might actually enjoy the site! It's like a video game/entertainment/wrestling news/story site thingy. Check it out!

February 23rd, 2002 Dan - Ranting again

We moved, we got our own domain, things are good for our future. Just a couple of things I want to point out. One, is that I have a new e-mail addy. With Ryusan not renewing and having my main addy hosted on there (well, internet addy, my college e-mail addy is for my personal use only), I made one for all of us on the domain. I'm not sure if Bob and Tiff set up their computers yet for their accounts, but I did setup mine so you'll see that in the e-mail section now. You'll see their new ones once they have their ready. Speaking of the e-mail section, I added a small FAQ Q&A blurb on the bottom to address something before something comes up and it becomes a big issue. Basically, it says that SMU is not going to host any sites except those run by us on the SMU staff.

As you can all tell, I haven't updated here in a while. Over a month actually, that's amazing. Knocking my computer out of commision and working on it night and day that one week didn't help, but in my free time, I've been lazy to update for the most part, or playing video games, heh. So stuff I wanted to get done before, I'm going to do my best to get done before the month of March. This includes a couple of small news blurbs that are probably well known by now, but should be reported anyways, as well as the S cover archive. So be on the lookout for them in the next few days.

February 22nd, 2002 Bob - Final site move to our own domain ^_^

Well, if you're here you've obviously found out that we've had to move again. Ryusan's domain is about to expire and she decided not to renew it. We thank ryusan from the bottom of our hearts for hosting us for these past 5 - 6 months! Thanks you, Ryusan!!!

Since this is the 4th time we've had to move in about 1 1/2 years, we decided to just get our own domain and host. Thus, more than likely, we wont have to move anymore (yay!!!). Please update all your links and bookmarks, I swear, this will be the last time you'll have to do this (and i would reccomend doing it ASAP as ryusan's domain expires in less than 2 weeks)!

That's it for now, Ja!!

February 1st, 2002 Bob - More screencaps and SMSS DVD1 review

I actually got these done a while ago, it's just I've been so busy lately that I haven't had a chance to post them. Screen caps have been posted for episodes 97 - 102 in the Series section so go check those out if you wish.

In other news, I picked up the Sailor Moon SuperS DVD a few days ago. While I haven't watched the whole thing yet (I've actually only watched about 1 1/2 episodes) I'll give you my review.

The packaging, in my opinion, is very nice. Once again, Pioneer gives us the double sided covers with clear case and insert. A nice touch is that the insert this time is actually a fold out poster of the reverse cover art. Also, unlike the S series, where on the spine "Sailor Moon" was in gold foil, on the SuperS DVDs, the background of the spine is in gold foil and the writing itself is not. This gives a nice distinction between the S and SuperS DVDs. Dan pointed out one drawback of the new packaging. On the spine, there is a small "circle picture" thing that in the S and movie DVDs, went towards the bottom, while on the SuperS DVDs it's at the top. This makes it so that the S and SuperS DVDs don't line up and clash each other if put next to each other. This however is a minor thing and overall, the packaging was very well done.

The menus were also well done. While the same concept was used, short animation to change between menus, etc, everything else was redone. While the whole S series' menus were very similar, the SuperS ones are very different. A nice touch that differentiates the SuperS DVDs with the S ones.

The extras is where this DVD really lacks. I was hoping for a Sailor Gallery of the outer senshi, but alas, the only extra was the original OP used for the first half of SuperS with Kanji. It seems as if Pioneer is really not trying in this department.

The episodes themselves seem somewhat well-done. The 2nd OP is used instead of the first because the 2nd OP was the only one that came in a "no-kanji" version. They also used the right EP, Watashi-tatchi ni naritakute, which was good. They also put the credits in the right spot, unlike in the S EPs, so that was also good. While the translation was for the most part, on, they made one big error. In episode 2 of the DVD, Fish Eye is referred to as a woman in the translation. BIG MISTAKE. Now, I know this confused a lot of you, so let me tell you, Fish Eye is a GUY. Don't let the shoddy translation fool you. You'll see for a fact that Fish Eye is a guy in an upcoming episode, so trust me, he _IS_ male. This mistake is unforgivable in my book, but luckily, it's one of the only downfalls of the DVD.

So go out and buy those DVDs! I know they messed up big time with the Fish Eye thing, but it's still good to support Pioneer. Oh yeah, almost forgot, cover art!

January 18th, 2002 Dan - News blurb

Small little news blurb added in misc in this ungodly hour to be up and awake. (It's not even the 18th in half the country right now o.o;;;;)

January 17th, 2002 Dan - Lots of new cover scans

After being home so long and not having to work the past few days, I got bored. Many of you know that when I get bored, I usually do neat little things for the site, and today is no exception. Owning both SM DVD boxes (Movie boxset and the final SMS DVD boxset) and remembering that the family computer has a scanner, I did a quite a bit of scanning today. Thus, the SMU cover archive is now open! Right now, only the movie archive is up, but soon, an SMS archive (with the box scans that Bob couldn't do with his scanner) will be up and eventually all the VHS scans will be too. Head over to misc to see this new section and enjoy!

January 16th, 2002 Bob - Screencaps added

Hi everyone, how are you guys?

Yes...I can picture you all talking into your monitors aimlessly, not knowing I can't hear a damn thing you're saying *snicker*.

Anyway, a big new addition to SMU today. Basically since we've opened, people have been whining and complaining, "You need an image gallery! Where are all the pictures!?!" I continued to promise that once I had the equipment to take screen shots, I would. This didn't seem to deter a single person as people continued to moan about where our pictures were.

Thus, today, I'm happy to present to you the SMU image gallery! Umm, well, kinda....You see, if you mosey on down to episode comparison #90, you'll notice in some of the alteration boxes there are links. These links will take you to a picture illustrating the cut/censorship/whatever in question. So now you can actually SEE what was cut rather than going by my extremely bad summaries of what is being cut.

Just for the record though, I will not be taking screen caps for every cut made. That would be stupid. Thus, only important cuts will have screen caps to go with them. Thus, just because part of a building was cut, doesn't mean I'm going to have a picture for it.

Only the images for episode 90 are up, but expect much much more in the future!

January 6th, 2002 Dan - Two cents update

For the first update of Y2K2, I've added in my two cents for episodes 4 - 6. Read and enjoy!

December 31st, 2001 Dan - Ranting and rambling

No, I'm not dead, I was overly busy my last couple weeks of the semester and since coming home, I've been working almost everyday and have been a bit lazy in my free time to do any updates anywhere, so now I'm trying to get back into the swing of things from before and update more often and hopefully not fall behind again (MKBO visitors, expect an update after I get home from work today). Luckily for me, not too much has happened to catch up on, though I have a small update for today. Before my update though, I would like to give a HUGE thank you to Triple Rach. A couple months ago when I asked for help in getting the last 5 episodes of Classic and the first arc of R dubbed after my FOX affiliate decided to take SM off the air, she e-mailed me telling me that a station she had was airing the dubs, taped all the episodes I needed to complete my collection (and then send to Bob to borrow to get the comparisons done when the time comes), and sent them to me. So I'd like to give her a big thank you for all her help for me and SMU for getting all those episodes. As for my update, I have a small news blurb that's probably well known by now, but is important to have on the site. And on a side note, I went to Media Play a few days ago, which since it's somewhat far away I don't go to often, and they have the biggest anime collection around here, and since I had just gotten two paychecks not long before then (one from my college job that pays biweekly and the other from my first week back at home), I was like a little kid in a candy store and went from only having the first two SMS DVDs (I fell behind due to some situations) to buying the movie DVD box set (cheapest I've seen anywhere), Heart Collections 3 - 5, and the "Suncoast exclusive" Heart Collection 6 box, and for cheaper than what Suncoast was selling it for, so they can kiss my ass now (read my March 2001 editorial to understand why Dan doesn't like Suncoast too much and made that remark). So Dan has all SM DVDs now. ^_^ I hope everyone had a very happy holidays and everyone have a happy new year!! (which is in 23 and a half hours on my clock as I type, I need to get to bed, I always seem to drag on and on these late night updates and I have work in seven and a half hours @_@)

Update many hours later: I decided to go through the links section to see if all the links are up to date per request by many e-mails over the months o.o;;;; and they all are now (except one, looking for the site).

December 23rd, 2001 Tiff - New logo and parody

Two little Christmas gifts! A nice holiday logo and a nifty parody Christmas song (it's in the editorial section) ^.~ Written by the ever talented goddess Tiff...*cough, glance at Bob and Dan* ^^; enjoy!

December 23rd, 2001 Bob - Episodes 4 and 5 posted and more

Hi everyone! This is my early Christmas present to all of you (since I will probably be busy all day tomorrow and Christmas day). Three more comparisons have gone up in the series section.

Sorry for the delay with the comparisons, but I've been EXTREMELY busy lately and things don't seem to be lightening up any. Luckily I'm off on Winter break so maybe I'll squeeze a few more in soon, no promises though.

Also, I updated the e-mail section with a note about e-mailing me. It basically says DON'T IM me, instead e-mail. I've had too many people IMing me lately, so I was basically forced to put this up. Go and read that since it is fairly important. Also, to all those who are ALREADY in contact with me through IM, this is not directed at you, so please feel free to continue to IM me, LOL.

I think that's it, Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year! Oh yeah, my Birthday is on the 7th of January! BUY ME PRESENTS!!!!!! BLARGH!!!! ~_^

December 14th, 2001 Tiff - New guestbook commentary

Because I've noticed that many people leave comments (good and bad) in the guestbook that I'd like to respond to, and that 9 out of 10 don't have email addresses, I've started responding to comments IN the guestbook. you can read my comments in red. ^_^
