February 6th, 2001 Dan - Two cents update

DVD didn't come today, and I had much less homework than normal (if I have lots of homework when the DVD gets here, hell will break loose), so I did my two cents for SS 137 - 139. I checked amazon.com today to see the status of the DVD, and it hasn't been shipped yet, and it looks like I'll get it around the weekend. So my goal of getting the editorial up before the weekend won't be met. I'll get it all typed up as soon as possible, I'm not going to put it off for anything except for activities I'm in and homework (I just got off grounding with the recent report card, I don't want to be on it again ^_^), and it will be in for format I described on Sunday. Features, sub review, uncut dub review, final notes. Thats how I'm going to type it, and thats the order I'm going to watch it in. It seems like the VHSs are easier to find than the DVD, if you can find the DVD at all with the high pre-order demand, so I hope you all enjoy everything that was released today!

February 4th, 2001 Dan - New messageboard post added

I needed a small excuse to make an update before the DVD comes out on Tuesday, and a post to AFSM provided it. I would've done my two cents for the episodes Bob put up last week, but I haven't had time to yet. The post I put up is a good post someone made about US animation versus Japanese animation, I'm sure you'll like it, head over to the misc section to see it.

Now, as you all have known since the day the date for the DVD has been announced that I would be writing an editorial for it. That still holds true, and I want to give all of you a ballpark of when I'll be watching it and typing up the editorial and posting it. I pre-ordered the DVD through amazon.com, so I estimate it will be here by Wednesday, which works out well for me. If it gets to my house on Wednesday, then when I open it, I'll check out the back and inside covers and the features. To ensure that the DVD doesn't hinder my schoolwork any worse, I'll be doing my homework after going through the features. I probably shouldn't have too much homework, so I will probably get online for a little bit before dinner. Then after dinner, I'm going to watch straight through all seven episodes subbed. I want to do the sub first so that way I can see the episodes again the way I like them, and won't be so critical for the first veiwing. ^_^ Then, after enjoying the sub and seeing how it was translated compared to the VKLL sub which I can somewhat remember, even after watching the CWi dub this summer, I'll go through as many of the uncut dubbed episodes as I can before bed. Then, Thursday, there should only be one or two episodes left, so I'll watch them when I get home from school. Then I'll do my homework, eat dinner, go to Jazz Band practice, and come home. When I get home from Jazz Band, all the episodes should have been watched and my notes taken down, I'll write the editorial and it should be up by the end of the night. Hopefully, things will go well and this will happen. However, if the DVD doesn't arrive in my mailbox by Wednesday, then I'll be watcing the sub when I get home from Area All State Band on Saturday night, and the uncut dub on Sunday, having the editorial up on Sunday night, or Monday afternoon, depending on how long it takes me to type up. Reviewing of the cover and features will only take a few minutes, so I'll do that as soon as I get the DVD obviously. The editorial will be written the same way as I watch it. Cover and features first, sub second, uncut dub third, and any last words I have last. I hope you all enjoy all the SMS stuff coming out on Tuesday, it looks to be very promising! I can't wait!

January 28th, 2001 Bob - Episodes 137 - 139 posted and more

Hi everyone! The countdown continues, 9 more days until the Pioneer releases! I hope everyone plans on getting the DVD! If you aren't, I hope your excuse is because you don't have a DVD player and that your getting the subtitled VHS copies. Before I go on with my "real" update, I'm going to give you a few good reasons to buy the DVD if you have a player and to not buy the dubs.

First off, the DVD has 7 episodes, dub and sub. In other words, the DVD is the equivalent of the subtitled releases volumes 1 and 2, AND the uncut dub releases volumes 1 and 2. The DVD is around $30, and the combined total for the 4 VHS volumes would be somewhere around $80 (+/- $10). So, BUY THE DVD! If you don't have a DVD, then don't get the dub at all, just get the subtitled releases. If you are wanting to buy the dub, here are some reasons not to - For starters, you can see the edited version on Cartoon Network, so why would you want to spend money on that? Second, if you are thinking about getting the uncut dub, then I say just wait. If you really want the uncut dub just get the DVD since it has the subtitled and the uncut dub on it. If you don't have a DVD player....Well....Just don't get the uncut dub...Or get a DVD PLAYER! The stronger the subtitled sales and weaker the dub sales the more likely we'll get a better dub if Stars is EVER dubbed and the lower the prices _MIGHT BECOME_ for the subtitled releases. Of course, this is all speculation, but you really shouldn't buy the dub anyway unless you're getting the subtitled with it (ie - the DVD).

Anyways! On to my REAL UPDATE! I have brand new comparisons!!! Episode 137, 138, and 139 are all up in the series section. I hope you enjoy them! Have fun!

January 24th, 2001 Dan - Cover art added

Pioneer FINALLY gave us the cover art of the DVD, and it looks great! See my small news note in the misc section and enjoy the new art! 13 more days!

January 24th, 2001 Bob - Quickie non-content update

Quick note - I know many of you wanted to sign that petition I told you about a while back (if you don't know what I'm talking about, scroll down and read past updates) but couldn't actually find it. Thus, here's a link to the actual petition.

http://www.123petitions.com/[email protected]$2

If you're interested in signing it, I reccomend going there and signing it now. Like I said before, Sailor Moon Uncensored is nuetral about this petition, we are neither for it or against it, but I know some people might be interested so here it is!

January 22nd, 2001 Tiff - Opinions section temp shutdown

I am NOT accepting anymore opinions essays from this point-Jan. 22, 2001-until further notice. I have more than enough, and have yet to finish reading and choosing them. Any sent to me from this point will be deleted without regard. thank you!

January 20th, 2001 Tiff - New flame

New flame. Yes, another. We get several, which I rarely respond to, but this one was on a particularily bad day I was having, and I took my feelings out on the response. ^^

Bob's note - Hi all! Bob here ^_^ Apparently, the person Tiff replied to in this new flame has been spamming our guestbook with really...dumb things. Honestly, I applaud Tiff with what she wrote. ^_^ Absoultely hilarious and I totally agree. I mean, honestly.....Anyone who tells us "u shuld goto collage to get smart"...............Is just a freaking moron......*sweat drop*

January 17th, 2001 Dan - Two cents and quickie news

Nothing too big, just my two cents for the episodes Bob added a couple days ago. I debated weather or not to make a small news clip of the SMR movie airing on 2/17, but decided against it because it would just be too short, and mostly my thoughts instead of a news clip. Also, the SMS 1st DVD now has an "offical" name, rather than combining the two VHS tape titles. The new title is "The Heart Collection". I dunno where they pulled that out of, but it's a title, though no new cover yet.

January 15th, 2001 Bob - Corrections and additions

Well....I made some corrections to episode 135 of the comparisons and it appears that Cartoon Network will air Sailor Moon R the movie on February 17th during the Rising Sun, so I've added a new paragraph about that to my editorial.

January 15th, 2001 Bob - Episodes 134 - 136 added

Alrighty...Here are those comparisons I promised. There are 3 new ones in the SuperS section (episodes 134, 135, and 136). Enjoy!

Also, less than 24 hours since I've posted my essay and I've already gotten a lot of good feedback ^^. Apparently there is a petition asking for some things from Cartoon Network. First off, I must say that Sailor Moon Uncensored is neither for this petition or against it. We are very neutral, but I know that a few of you might be interested in checking it out...So here's the link - http://ultrastarofficial.terrashare.com. Have fun, everyone!

January 14th, 2001 Bob - Editorial on Cartoon Network

Wow! Talk about a leave of absense...I'm starting to feel like Mr. Psaros here *sweat drop*. Anyways...It's been 17 days since our last update....So I decided to get off my butt and do something. I've wrote a brand new editorial for you all to read in the "editorial" section. So mosey on over there and enjoy it!

Also, expect comparisons tomorrow. I've gotten them done on paper and all I have to do is convert that into HTML.

Finally, if I can find the time, I'll be re-doing the "e-mail" section so that people will find it easier to e-mail us.

Anyways, have fun!

December 28th, 2000 Dan - Info on first SMS release

Great news today! Pioneer has finally cracked and given out information regarding the first DVD and VHSs of Sailor Moon S, as well as pics of the two VHSs cover designs. Head over to the misc section and see the news! ^_^

December 25th, 2000 SMU Staff - Merry Christmas! ^_^

Well hello everyone, and Merry Christmas! Keeping with the holiday spirit, we have a MASSIVE update for all of you! But first, let me explain a few things.

First I must explain about the recent lack of updates. I (Bob) was fairly sick two weeks ago and was in bed the entire week. That pretty much flushed and hope of comparisons down the toilet. The following week I was extremely busy with school (doing make up work and such), so that weekend I was pretty much just resting. So this entire last week, me and my co-workers as SMU were busy trying to get these updates up, and here they are!

Can I have a drum roll please? *thudadadadadadadadada* Let's all celebrate the grand opening of the SuperS section in the series section!!! I have not one, not two, not three, not four, not even five episode comparisons, but SIX!!! COUNT THEM! SIX EPISODE COMPARISONS!! UNBELIEVABLE, NE??? Not only that, but I've added a very very short little thing to the "Anti-SOS" page. Enjoy! Now I'm going to pass the mike to the wonderful and always hard working Dan!

*takes mike* Thanx Bob! In addition to the comparisons, I've put my two cents them as well. Also, you can head over to the misc section for some nice additions there. I'm sure you'll all laugh as much as I did when I got them. Your turn Tiff! *tosses mike to Tiff*

hi hi!! *belts out some random christmas carols* i have a gift for all of you purist BSSM fans!! my very own parody about the dub! *evil grin* it's in the editorials section. so go check it out! chrissamassu omegatou!!!

December 9th, 2000 Dan - New page added

It's been pretty slow around here since SMS has been finished here. But I've done something I'm sure everyone will like. Since I got bored today, and have always wanted one, I have a Japanese to English episode conversion table, where you can see the Japanese titles literally translated to English and English dub titles side by side, with the episode numbers for each. Enjoy, and remember, the first Pioneer VHSs and DVD is less than two months away! ^_^

November 29th, 2000 Dan - Two cents for S complete

Well, it took me a week to recover from the effects of Bob's champagne (thanx by the way, I needed that, lol), but I finally added my two cents for the final three episodes of S, 125 - 127. Now it's almost time to go aboard the SS train and see excatly everything that happened with that. (By the way Bob, it's not countless more episodes, only 129 Japanese, which would be roughly 123 dub episodes counting cuts and the "2 into 1" episode ^_^) Bob's Note - Just so everyone knows, Tiff is back, so you can start e-mailing her again. ^^
