See my latest news article regarding Pioneer's final release of SuperS. Meh, I don't like it, but didn't expect more. And with this, Pioneer's involvement with Sailor Moon comes to an end, unless they pick up the specials or Stars at some point. It's been an interesting ride seeing what they've done, some ups and downs, it's too bad they decided to not go out (SM-wise) with a bang. When they got the movies, they did an excellent job with releasing them. Sailor Moon S had a nice release schedule, and good plans to satisfy both DVD and VHS users. The last DVD release even had a special deal at certain stores where it was packed in with the final Mixx manga to send the season off nicely. With SuperS, it just seems to me that it was forced out because they had it. The release schedule was pretty poor, as three months between a release is just too long. What could've been a quick year release with six sets of releases, was really a year and a half release over seven sets. And the VHS release was pretty bad as well, not giving the option of subs, and only select edited dub episodes. Extras were lacking for the S DVDs, and even moreso in SS, though the menus in SS have been really nice so far, and the movies had excellent menus, and the majority of all their SM releases had great coverart. I would've loved to see the two seasons released as well as the movies were, but at least they're out at all. What was deemed impossible a few short years ago is now practically complete today. S and SS have been dubbed, and better yet, availble subbed. Though not excatly the best release plans at points, it's great to see them out. Thank you Pioneer, for making the releases of the movies and the S and SS seasons possible.
