Pioneer done with Sailor Moon (July 18th, 2003)

While there was no Sailor Moon news a couple weeks ago at Anime Expo, which I somewhat expected since Otakon seems to be the place for SM news during con season, this weekend's Comic Con brings a small tidbit of news. Various reports from Comic Con indicate that Pioneer has specifically stated that they have no plans to bring Sailor Stars, the fifth and final season of Sailor Moon, over on this side of the Pacific. This in turn means that Pioneer is done releasing Sailor Moon, as outside of Stars, there is no more episodes of the anime series to come over here. They'll obviouslly keep producing what they have released, but as for any new acqusitions, Pioneer will no longer be involved with Sailor Moon on this side of the ocean.
